SURVEYOR

James Latter is an independent British surveyor specialising in pre-purchase inspections of French property in north-west France.  He is a French-registered ‘Expert Immobilier’ having trained in France and is a full member of ‘La Compagnie Nationale des Experts Immobiliers’ and ‘Le Conseil Supérieur National de l’Expertise’.  He is bi-lingual and lives permanently in France.

Over the last 15 years he has managed numerous important renovation projects including a Chateau in the Orne, a luxury new-build seaside villa, an ancient Manoir in the Manche and several smaller projects.  This experience has given him a detailed technical insight into traditional construction methods and his training in ‘building pathology’ enables him to identify the origin of defects, put them into true perspective and advise accordingly.

His usual area of activity is Normandy, Brittany and the Loire valley but can readily cover other regions of France as necessary.

Reports are written in clear English and depending on clients’ individual needs, can cover the feasibility of conversions, modifications etc.
